Vegan Sake Teriyaki Sauce and a Veggie Sushi Story
I had a sushi night at home and enjoyed two of my dear friends recipes in the mix: Vegan Sake Teriyaki Sauce from @haillhail that went incredibly well with @foodmarshall Veggie Sushi–highly suggest making a romantic night in with the two recipes combine. You can grab Marshall's veggie sushi recipes from link above and sauce below.

Vegan Sake Teriyaki Sauce
By @haillhail
- 3 cups sake (ends up being a whole bottle)
- 1 cup mirin
- 1 cup shoyu or tamari
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 3 cloves garlic
- 10 slices ginger
- 2 tbsp arrowroot, dissolved in water
Bring all ingredients except the arrowroot to a simmer. Simmer for an hour until slightly thick. Add the arrowroot slowly, stirring constantly, and cook until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Strain and let cool.
